Swedish megacar manufacturer Koenigsegg is the latest brand to get the Lego Technic Ultimate Car Concept treatment.

The ultra-exclusive Sadair’s Spear, of which there are only 30 in the world, has been immortalised in a new Lego set, available for purchase from July 1.

Koenigsegg fans, also known as the ‘Ghost Squadron’, will now have their chance to get their hands on the 4,104-piece set of the megacar, complete with a functioning Ghost Mode.

Koenigsegg joins the Porsche 911, Bugatti Chiron, Lamborghini Sián, Ferrari Daytona and McLaren P1 in being transformed into 1:8 scale sports car models as a part of Lego’s Car Concept series.

The Koenigsegg megacar set features an authentic V8 piston engine, a functional 9-speed transmission, unique Triplex front and rear suspension and most importantly, the Swedish brand’s innovative ‘Ghost Mode’ function. Just like the real-life megacar, with a single movement, it raises the rear clam, rotates the signature dihedral synchro-helix doors and front hood, and folds the mirrors.

Christian von Koenigsegg, CEO of Koenigsegg, said: “Our partnership with the Lego Group demonstrates how a shared passion for engineering and creativity can result in something extraordinary.”

Kasper Rene Hansen, Senior Model Designer at the Lego Group, who led the design and development of the 1:8 Technic set over 18 months, said, “This is, to date, the most challenging and the most exciting model I’ve ever done".

Not content with being a part of an elite group of supercars transformed into Lego, Koenigsegg took it one step further and set another record as the fastest Lego Technic big build car ever.

To celebrate the launch of the set, the Danish toy brand built a 1:1 drivable Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear entirely out of Lego - consisting of 327,906 elements and weighing 1,800kg.

The record of 111km/h was set downhill on the Goodwood Hillclimb by Koenigsegg test driver, Markus Lundh, doubling the previous record of 50km/h. Lundh had set the Goodwood Festival of Speed Hillclimb record in the real Sadair’s Spear the year prior.

Lundh said: "Getting the chance to take the driver's seat of this life-size Lego Technic build was an incredible privilege. It really did feel like I was handling a real Koenigsegg, bringing back memories of setting the speed record at Goodwood in the Sadair's Spear in July 2025. It was awesome to set another record on this iconic course - a true testament to the level of engineering the Lego Technic team has achieved.”

Speaking to The Race, COO Halldora von Koenigsegg said, “We have our fair amount of people with an obsession for innovation at Koenigsegg and so does Lego so it was actually a match made in heaven to have our two teams challenge each other.”

Fittingly, Halldora explained that there is an Easter Egg on their Sadair's Spear cars that ties in nicely to the Lego partnership: “There’s a little inscription that says ‘when imagination meets innovation’ and I think it says it so well so I’m proud of the collaboration.”

The Lego Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear Megacar set will be available for Lego Insiders' Early Access from 1 July 2026 and for general sale from 4 July 2026, priced at GBP£399.99/USD$449.99.
