Marco Bezzecchi lost the MotoGP championship lead and was taken to hospital for precautionary checks after an early high-speed crash in a Dutch Grand Prix won by Ai Ogura.
Bezzecchi's Aprilia team-mate Jorge Martin couldn't hold off Trackhouse pair Ogura and Raul Fernandez as they repeated their sprint 1-2 but in the opposite order after a successful late dive on his team-mate by Ogura.
Ogura's victory makes him the first Japanese race winner in MotoGP in 22 years.
Bezzecchi lost control of his Aprilia early in the race and became yet another rider this weekend to take a violent high-speed tumble through the Assen gravel.
Aprilia said he was "fully conscious and displays normal mobility in all four limbs, with no immediate signs of major neurological or systemic complications" but that because of "severe pain resulting from the high-energy impact" Bezzecchi will go to Groningen Hospital for "comprehensive diagnostic imaging and specialised scans to definitively rule out any underlying injuries and ensure a safe recovery path".
Martin had won an early lead battle with Fernandez but couldn't shake off the Trackhouse pair and was passed by them in quick succession mid-race.
Ogura then passed Fernandez and stormed away to take his first win, while third for Martin gives him a seven-point lead now over Bezzecchi.
Marc Marquez was only seventh. He ran third on lap third but couldn't maintain that pace.
He lost particular ground via Fabio Di Giannantonio dive at the chicane that took them both into the gravel, and for which Di Giannantonio was given a long lap penalty.
Di Giannantonio recovered from that to take fourth from Alex Marquez, who put in a remarkable performance to finish fifth given the gouges in his arm from his Friday crash and that he is only just back in action after his horrific Barcelona accident last month.
Marc Marquez was sixth on the road but a last-lap track limits penalty cost him a place to Enea Bastianini.
