COTA expands United States GP access with new Thursday ticket

The Circuit of The Americas is expanding its United States Grand Prix offering with a new Thursday ticket that will give Formula 1 fans access to the venue before the race weekend officially begins.

The new 'Grand PrixView Thursday' event will debut this year on October 22 ahead of the Austin race weekend and will be available as a standalone ticket priced from $20.

Fans attending on Thursday will be able to take part in an F1 pitlane walk, watch F1 Academy on-track activity, visit the F1 Academy paddock and explore fan attractions around the circuit before the arrival of the main weekend crowds.

The ticket will also provide access to the circuit's fan villages, merchandise outlets and the Formula 1 Fan Zone, while COTA's theme park will be open separately.

Existing three-day grandstand, general admission and hospitality ticket holders will receive Thursday access at no additional cost.

COTA chairman and founder Bobby Epstein said the initiative was designed to encourage local fans to experience F1 up close.

"We're always looking for ways to make F1 more accessible," Epstein said. "Grand PrixView Thursday is like an open house for our Central Texas community. For just $20, you can come, get up close with F1 and see what all the excitement is about."

The move effectively turns the US GP into a four-day event as F1's popularity in Austin continues to grow.

The Austin race has become one of the best-attended events on the F1 calendar since joining the championship in 2012, with COTA increasingly expanding the off-track entertainment and fan experience alongside the grand prix itself.
